La Guadeloupe en bref :

Appellée l'île aux belles eaux, la Guadeloupe est un archipel de 1779 km² composé de 2 îles principales :
- La Basse Terre : 848 km² ( la capitale)
- Grande Terre : 588 km²
Ces 2 îles sont séparées par un bras de mer étroit, la Rivière Salée. La Guadeloupe est environnée par des petites îles :
- La Désirade, Marie Galante, les Saintes, Petite Terre, Saint Martin, Saint Barthélémy.

Les premiers habitants de la Guadeloupe étaient les Arawaks ( des indiens venus Vénézuela).
Découverte le 11 avril 1493 par Christophe Colomb, la Guadeloupe devint département français le 19 mars 1946. Actuellement la Guadeloupe compte près de 450 000 habitants.
Climat tropical et température de 24° à 34° toute l'année.
